I think the studio version finally escaped from being labelled GNR's Nirvana cover tune.

Ron's guitar took the song in another direction which totally suits the rest of the album. Without the finishing touches who knows...there was a primal feel that the early live versions had that has been lost but now it's like the real rock hit it should be.

Chinese Democracy is one hell of a song. The guitar work that Bumblefoot added was amazing, it made the song much better.

But Frank Ferrer should not be on CD.

One of the top 5 songs from the album imo

love it loads, the live versions were rough and it was awesome (RIR 2001) WOW! Every time I see Robin slam down that riff I jump up at its awesomeness

Johan is not nuts. At least not anymore nuts than the rest of us. He is ruled by his own psychology, which includes jealousy that he cannot sing that high.

+1

I love every single fucking song on this album. A TRUE masterpiece.

I don't really like his drumming on Chinese Democracy (the song), Brains drumming on that track was far better. But, I like his additions on Better & I.R.S.

^ I like Brain's drumming better on CD ( the song ). On IRS, you're right, he did added some good stuff in it. But nothing Brain couldn't have done. aAnd on Better, I just hate the drumming on that song. Not because he's playing bad or anything but the fact that it changes the drummer on the chorus fucking ruin the song for me, it's stupid. That song could've been my favorite, but when it gets to the chorus (and only the chorus) Brain's drumming is turned down (really low) and Frank's drumming kicks in. But you can still hear Brain a little bit, so it gets very messy and it fucking sucks.

Plus Brain was in the band since what? 99? Frank was his live replacement, it gives the band credibility having a member for so long and the guy comes in and he's already on the album, that sucks, you got 2 drummers on the booklet, that sucks, Brain is just far superior drummer over Frank, so that sucks.

I ain't saying Frank is a bad drummer, but Brain fucking rules.  :smirk:
