Did Axl see Buckethead without his mask ?
« on: August 13, 2009, 01:21:15 AM »
I wonder .... when Buckethead was writing songs with Axl and just hanging out with him , was keeping his identity secret so important to him that he always kept his mask on , or did they hang out like "normal people" with him not wearing his mask ?

I've often wondered this too. Hard to say - I don't know if anyone's ever commented on it. But lets put it this way: Axl built Bucket a human sized chicken coup. So probably!
I think it is high time for a bit of class around here, don't you?

Actually Buckethead did remove his mask. He removed it when he was interview for the job and he also removes it at restaurants.

But...When he actually played guitar he put it on so he could be inspired.

Chickens + porn = Buckethead

And dog shit too

Yeah, I imagine he wouldn't have it on in "the real world" when he is shopping, going out to eat, etc. but then again people don't know it's him, he would just blend in. Hanging out with Axl without a mask on though is somehting different since Axl would know "hey, this is bucket!" and I wonder if he would reveal his face to just Axl but not the rest of the band . I know that Axl commented about going to disney with bucket and them having a great time together , and I wonder if he had his mask on then . I wonder about all this since all these years he's done such a great job of keeping his real face off the web . This is the only legit pic of him I know of , and this was from long ago :

Bucket probably hides his face in public appearances for he can go out and do normal people's stuff whenever he wants!
take care,

I think Axl saw Buckethead without his mask. He uses it so he can't be recognized on the streets etc. and also he acts that way because it's his caracter, y'know? That's how I accepted BH, I used to think that he was a freak but now I see it more as a caracter that h plays, it's his alte ego or whatever, but in a studio, working with a band, living the everyday life he probably do not wear it.

Yeah.

Buckethead is a very interesting musician. That guy can play everything. He's so varied in his choices and his abilities. Remarkable man and guitar player. Good looking on that photo too.

Interesting are the two versions why he let GN'R though........his or GN'R,s.........????

That's an insert he pops over his finger to make it longer , not his real finger :) Was something he was messing around with in his earlier years , I never see him use it these days.

Of course Axl saw him without the mask.
Bucket also used that claw thing on his thumb to slap bass
sometimes he has that big hand too
Buckethead left GNR-because he got tired of not playing/the album never came out

I agree. Buckethead is a passionate musician. He isn't able to live without playing. So I understand he left. He needs to work to exist.
Ha, I don't think he wears the mask with his family and friends or in a studio.
