as usual, useless thread!
As usual, a WC hater.
Well, for one thing, buy d/l's and cd's directly from them. I think part of the reason why albums sales are down across the board is partly because of the soft economy where not many people can afford luxuries. Secondly, so many people have d/l'd, in some cases, legitimately, that the wave of the future is mp3 downloads. The account user can pay for an album download and burn their own cd, for example. Plus, with the team of lawyers UMG has, they can more effectively prosecute pirates. It's one thing to rip a copy and put it on youtube. It's another if you hack into UMG. Plus UMG could watermark it and if someone gets caught with material that is not watermarked, that is proof of pirated material and subject to prosecution. By the way, many of the piracy laws are federal. And trust me, you (in general) do not want to do federal time. For one thing, some federal sentencings are without parole. You do the whole sentence. Second, because of population issues, you may be in prison with violent criminals who see you as "fresh meat." How do I know? My father-in-law from my first marriage got zapped in a savings and loan deal. He was even offered a plea bargain if he would rat on the other people involved. But these are people you don't mess with. So he kept his mouth shut and got out of prison alive. When he first went in, it was a "country club." Other white collar guys. In a few years, they were bring in killers and rapists and all the violent criminals. Now, because of his associates and the protection afforded him by keeping his mouth shut, he was safe. But a lone hacker or pirate might not be so lucky.
So basically it would help to stop people illegally posting GNR material. Not sure this federal thing applies to me as I'm not American. Pretty serious story though. Would make me think twice.
Axl is a fat bald wanker-I like him, A LOT!!!!!
So, this would be a way to listen to or watch GNR and other artists "legally" or have I understood it wrong?
This thread is useless, since it's not actually new.
This involves GNR since they are in UMG so it is relevant.
some applies to you as well never heard about international treaties?
Can't say I have
go and look for them on official websites and you´ll find everything
Ok going by that logic I could post NIN articles on here because they used to be part of UMG which is involved with GNR. No.
