And fun. I like the song, "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC but when I record it on my little digital camera with the condenser mic, it makes me sound kind of funny. So, I thought, what the hell, I'll see what I can do to really make it sound funny. I changed how I resonate a note and controlled vocal volume with air pressure and vocal cord tension. It may sound falsetto but it is not. Vocal cords are fully engaged and at a few points, I am loud enough to make the mic crackle when I overload it. This is part of what I mean when I say a high note is actually a small not amplified correctly by the resonance chamber of your throat. Anyway, I was goofing off and now I like this version better than when I am trying to be serious.

As I like to describe it, this is a countrified opera version of "Highway to Hell" covered by me.

And please, if so moved to do so, laugh. I know I did.

 Brilliant! Although you didn't sound much like Bon...but you sounded almost exactly what I imagine a drunk Justin Hawkins would sound like

For some reason, I can't get youtube to play a Darkness video because I wanted to hear the comparison. But I'll take it as a compliment.

It was a computer problem on my end. Re-boot fixed it. So, I saw live shows of "I believe in a thing called love" and "One-way Ticket to Hell."

And completely agree. It was great. A sweet mix of Queen, Spinal Tap, and Anvil. I loved it and thanks for the comparison.

One more trivium. While I was recording this version of "Highway to Hell," and sounding lke Justin Hawkins, I was stone cold sober. However, I recorded "Down Under" after a glass of wine.

That's cool man. I was impressed; I've never met anyone who can sing like Mr. Hawkins can  Whenever I try, my voice just goes croaky :tear:

Thanks. I've always sang while I played guitar but my voice wasn't much of anything until about 1988, when I started working on my singing, in earnest. Then, the point was to sing without rasp, to sing a pure tone with volume that could crack glass. When I first opened my upper range, my wife would get headaches because I couldn't control my own volume. She did say that I could fill up the Cotton Bowl, without a p.a. The Cotton Bowl is a football stadium at Dallas Fair Park in Dallas, Texas.

But my equipment is decades old and behind the times. I have a 4-track analog recording machine from the mid-80's. What I need is a digital multi-track recorder or a way to jack my analog in and make a digital recording. Or find an add-on that I could put in my computer and jack right in, guitar, mic, whatever.

I've auditioned for bands before but I was not what they were looking for. So, I do it for fun, now. I subject friends, pets, party goers, and some casual patrons of a local bar and grill to it, now and then.

Now, I'm tempted to do another version of "Long Way to the Top." I guess I've got this Aussie thing going on.

try shacklers revenge.

The funny thing is, the lead vocal is bass and nearly too low for me to go. I can do the high parts just fine.

I'm going to have a whole album of mangled cover tunes by the time I'm done.
