That's cool man. I was impressed; I've never met anyone who can sing like Mr. Hawkins can
Whenever I try, my voice just goes croaky
Thanks. I've always sang while I played guitar but my voice wasn't much of anything until about 1988, when I started working on my singing, in earnest. Then, the point was to sing without rasp, to sing a pure tone with volume that could crack glass. When I first opened my upper range, my wife would get headaches because I couldn't control my own volume. She did say that I could fill up the Cotton Bowl, without a p.a. The Cotton Bowl is a football stadium at Dallas Fair Park in Dallas, Texas.
But my equipment is decades old and behind the times. I have a 4-track analog recording machine from the mid-80's. What I need is a digital multi-track recorder or a way to jack my analog in and make a digital recording. Or find an add-on that I could put in my computer and jack right in, guitar, mic, whatever.
I've auditioned for bands before but I was not what they were looking for. So, I do it for fun, now. I subject friends, pets, party goers, and some casual patrons of a local bar and grill to it, now and then.
