"Roger & Rafael" are obviously the way out favourites, but I think Juan Martin Del Potro is the dark horse of this major. There are far more esteemed and dedicated tennis followers in this thread than myself to judge the outcome, but based on what I've seen of him, he's definately a rare talent with the ability to win.

Absolutely. Though he's still a hit and miss.

Last year he won the US Open and in the next tournament he was kicked out in the first round by a totally random player.  :hmpf

A lot will be decided with the draw. Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Juan Martin Del Potro, Novak Djokovic - two of these players will be in the final. But who exatly, I couldn't say.
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think

Rafael Nadal is out of Australian Open.  :(

After not a very good performance (he was two sets down) Nadal had to retire against Andy Murray in the third set because of a pain in his knee.

Hope he gets better soon. Vamos.

The remaining players in the quarter finals are:

Novak Djokovic VS. Jo-Vilfried Tsonga
Roger Federer VS. Nikolay Davydenko

The first semi-final match is already decided:

Andy Murray VS. Marin Cilic (the first semifinal grand slam appearance for the young Croat)
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think

Djokovic climbed to second place in the ATP list. If Federer lose from Davydenko, and if Djokovic win Australian open ... Novak Djokovic will be the first in the world  ! ! !   :banana  :banana  :banana

Not yet official but yes. This is the first time Djokovic will reach the Nr. 2 spot. I'm glad it's him if there needs to be someone  :D. He's my girlfriend's favourite.

Last year when Nadal defeated Nole in three Masters 1000 she was furious. When Nole defeated Nadal on all three occasions at the end of the 2009 season I was furious. Their rivalry is always entertaining.

No matter what Djokovic does in this tournament, his advantage on the ATP chart compared to Nadal will be 320 points or more if he wins.

so sorry to see Nadal injured again, Murray is looking in fine form, i hate him so i hope Cilic can stop him :disgust:

But Federer all the way for me, if he maintains the level he performed at against Hewitt, he will be very hard to defeat.

Its good to see Novak doing well also

Yes, it's an interesting time in tennis.

Djokovic could become NR.1, Murray has a chance of becoming NR.2 or NR.3.

If Murray reaches the final he will be new NR.3 and that means Nadal would be NR.4 for the first time since 2005. (he went from 5th to 3rd place then, but you get the idea)  :D

If Djokovic lost against Tsonga (I don't think it will happen) and Murray won the slam then Murray would be NR.2.

If Federer lost against Davydenko (it's possible) and Djokovic won the slam then Nole would be NR.1.

Gimme clay court season, now.   :smoking:

Nadal injured again hey, just as he was getting back to fitness.

Murray will choke like he did in the US final last year.

If Fed can beat Davy then I think he will win it but he is down 1 set already.

Good game from Federer.

Now I want to see Djokovic destroy Tsonga, crash Federer in the semis and blew Murray off the court in the final...
