i agre with pretty much all of that.  I think it will be a really great year.

djokovic needs to stepm up more often, del potro has major potential and murray, roddick, davydenko, soderling are top players.

I hope fed has another good run in him, ill also be pulling for rafa.  I hate murray

Who doesn't hate Murray...    I wanna say his mother, but I'm not sure.

It was a bummer seeing Rafa so helpless. He was close to winning a set a couple of times but he just made too many mistakes. He usually won the games because he made so little unforced errors. In the last match against Djokovic he made over 30 unforced errors  :O

He's having problems with huge hitters like Djokovic, Del Potro, Söderling and Davydenko. But I'll always believe in Rafa. The King Of Clay will return again.

The future is unpredictable, I think it will be between Djokovic and Del Potro. And I would really love to see another marathon Nadal VS. Federer grand slam final. For closure of an era.

Rafael Nadal secured the first point for the Spanish team in this year's Davis Cup final between Spain and Chech Republic.

The first set was a bit rocky but then it went more than smoothly. The final score against Thomas Berdych is 7:5, 6:0, 6:2. The Chech didn't actually have a chance. He broke Rafa's serve in the second game of the match but that was all.

We got the chance to see the old Nadal again and he was really happy when he won and probably because he played a really good tennis.

I guess all we needed was a clay court.  :D

yes a great performance from nadal.

Its great for him that he can get on the clay, as a chance to regain his rythym and set him in good stead for the coming year

Rafael Nadal is the winner of the exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi.

After two consecutive losses against Robin Söderling, Rafa proved today he is close to his top form again. He defeated the Swed with 7:6, 7:5 and collected 250 000$ for two wins only.

His previous match was against David Ferrer whom he beaten in straight sets while Söderling came through after defeating Roger Federer in the 3-set semis.

The first big tournament is Doha and then Australian Open. VAMOS!

Nikolay Davydenko is the winner of the ATP 250 tournament in Doha.

He has also become only the second player ever (after David Nalbandian) who has defeated both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal twice in the same tournament.

The Machine (Nikolay's nickname) won the semi-final match against Federer with 6:4 6:4 and he had to face Nadal waiting in the final.

Rafa was unbelievable in the first set of the final which he won 6:0  :O. Then the level of Davydenko's game changed and a tied second set followed. With one break on each side the player moved into the tie-break. Nadal even had a match point on his own serve but failed to deliver and the Russian tied in sets with 7:6.

In the third Rafa broke Nikolay's serve again but The Machine came back hitting hard, taking a serve game from Nadal and went into lead 5:4. There he broke serve again and won 6:4 in the final set.

0:6, 7:6, 6:4

I was kinda disappointed but the way Rafa played the first set was awesome. If he can endure the whole match on that level he will be unbeatable at the Australian Open, it starts on January 17th.

He only has 1 problem. Davydenko is great when he plays the best out of 3 sets matches.

When he plays best of 5 sets, like the grand slam, he even admitted himself he can't handle it. I think he won't reach the semi-finals. But everything's possible.

"Roger & Rafael" are obviously the way out favourites, but I think Juan Martin Del Potro is the dark horse of this major. There are far more esteemed and dedicated tennis followers in this thread than myself to judge the outcome, but based on what I've seen of him, he's definately a rare talent with the ability to win.
