It does look very retro, like one of those pictures you see in school science textbooks from the 70's and shit

I'm not a drum machine expert but did anyone think that it has a specific sound the band is looking for? Dated equipment is used all the time in music.

Some of the best guitars are old school from 50's 60's and 70's

I guess they thought the songs would sound better with this thing, considering that they had more than enough time to record them with a real drummer.

yeah, is just that i'm an old-school guy, I dont like eletronic effects.

I think a drum machine should be used only as initial practice for bands, then the drummer should come in and play those parts and then take the drum machine out.

I absolute hate it, i hate eletronic drums.

all songs would be even better with only one drummer playing in it.

I can appreciate a song that uses a drum machine but I agree with you. The organic feel and tempo shift of a human drummer is something that can't be replicated.

My brother has used a drum machine to write songs but it still progressed toward teaching a drummer to track it so that it could be played live with a real drummer. Back in the good old days, the drums were the loudest thing and you had to balance mic and guitars to the drums.
