This has become a pretty serious issue and is running rampant in threads on just about everything that comes up in the news section.

Might I remind you people we are all GN'R fans, that's why we spend our time talking shit on these forums. We're all here for the same reason as the next guy, whether they came here following Tommy's career or Ron Thal's, we all gotta put up with one another. You're all gonna clash in opinions, we got the timeless new GN'R vs. Old GN'R thing going, and that's fine. But there is a section where you can vent and it is not the news section.

If you have a gripe with someone or you feel the need to pick a fight, can you please post that fucking rubbish in the Flamers section? 'Yes TSI?!'

I'll remind you guys, the FLAMERS section is not moderated. Go for your life.

FLAMERS GO HERE! UNCENSORED CHAOS! (click)

I for one will be following TSI's rules, He has the best interest of the forum in mind, and may I remind you he IS a moderator.
Thank you TSI?
Appreciated.
Peace

I do not think you own it either, and emoticon use is not flaming.

In other words you feel you can insult others be insinuating they are stupid and retarded but as soon as someone "strikes back" you behave like a giant manchild and cries to the mods to protect you.

I for one will be following TSI's rules, He has the best interest of the forum in mind

He might have, but you obviously do not with your hypercritical insulting of others followed up by childish whimpering when people retort.

No he is telling you that he uses emoticons like everyone else, if you notice in the original post it doesnt mention emoticons, and please do not be a hypocrit by claiming you among other were trying to start a fight in that thread. Its pretty clear in those posts. And well congrats you guys did it again.
and please dont keep insulting him, specialy in this thread, or what are you going to claim next that he is the one starting the toruble in here too?
He has stated he is willing to follow the rules that TSI has put here.
You should get off your highhorse and do the same.

So now we have two people who are too stupid to understand that visual representations of retarded people (emoticons) can function as insults just as well as letters combined to words. Fantastic! Can I ask you to have a "battle of the wits" (and I use this expression in its widest sense), it would be interesting to see which one of you are the stupidest.

and please do not be a hypocrit by claiming you among other were trying to start a fight in that thread.

Huh? Come again...

He has stated he is willing to follow the rules that TSI has put here.

Yeah, he has stated that but at the same time he has demonstrated that in his mind this means that he will still be allowed to use :retard: , :finger: and other emoticons as well as insinuating that other people are stupid just for disagreeing with him (see answer to rds.06 in other thread); and if such behaviour can not be said to comprise flaming and thus violation of TSI's "rule" then I am very mistaken indeed. Actually, if the mods should turn out to accept Manchild's behaviour while restricting others then this is not a forum I will support.

You should get off your highhorse and do the same.

I will not stop insulting Manchild unless he stops insulting others unprovoked like he did to rds.06 or unless the mods clearly say I trespass some rule.

You're going so far up TSI?'s ass I can barely see your shoe laces

His rules were to keep our negativity out of the news section and we're doing in accordance to that.

You reap what you sow...

Experienced and well taught as you are you might have known that :O

You also told some people their beliefs were idiotic just because you don´t believe in these things (in the thread about Axl being aquarius)

How do you call that?  :?:

His rules were to keep our negativity out of the news section and we're doing in accordance to that.

This is a sticky and it´s in the main section. And you are flaming here. In case you didn´t notice.

And

You're going so far up TSI?'s ass I can barely see your shoe laces

Alright, i'll be there talking shit about Warchild!      :banana

This is a thread posted by a mod requesting to stop the flaming in the main section, and some of you are using it for flaming and making personal attacks. I can´t believe you have gone so far, that´s getting way out of hand  :disgust:

OK, you've actually respected the rules. Admittedly, there is still flaming going on, but I'll say you guys have markedly improved without necessarily a great deal of help.

However, even this threads smells of the singed clothing of the poor recipients on the end of someone's Molotov cocktail.

Can we get some suggestions from you guys about how to improve this? Constructive suggestions guys, let's be grown-ups in at least this thread :mwa

Before Abaraxas or someone else says it, no! No banning

Before Abaraxas or someone else says it, no! No banning

Firstly; People who make threads need to be consciencous about where they put those threads. Th "CD - too intellectual for the haters thread" was in the wrong section. Myself and others made a point of mentioning it, and it eventually got moved to the flamers thread, which was a waste of a thread that other users might have appreicated if it had been in the right section originally. If it had been in the right thread in the first place there would have been no problem, so that's something that us users can do straight away. It must also be noted that when users point out that a thread is in the wrong section, they are at perfect liberty to do that without getting flamed or moaned at.

Secondly; Excessive reporting of users needs to stop. The Mods, such as yourself and MrB (the two most active ones) are more than capable of seeing what's going on. Furthermore, when people inevitably are reported, as some members I doubt will never stop reporting people, there must definately NOT be any posts by the reporter boasting about it, or hinting towards it. That is just inviting flames, and is in effect, a flame in itself.

Finaly; Emoticons such as  :finger: and :retard: should be considered flaming, if used for that purpose, just like calling someone a retard would be considered flaming. Let's keep this section clean, people.

WC will start following the rules he's so eager to enforce on others and everything will be just fine. As long as some of the members feel they have special priviligies this will not stop...

WC and his new attorney gaby like to accuse people of something they usually do. I suggest they join us on the ground.

I said it before and I'll say it again. As much as they try to pin the blame on us, WC is 100% responsible for what is going on and is up to him when it's gonna stop... It's all about the attitude towards others.

His new topic in Flamers section proves where he's at

Without enforcing control by banning you must rely on people's goodwill to have a friendly and constructive forum. And usually that works well. At least for most other boards I frequent. There will always be some friction, but I don't think most people have a big problem with a little heat as long as it ends. The problem is of course that only one rotten apple that doesn't understand this can ruin the whole forum because he/she will cause so much noise that it drowns all the interesting discussions and threads. And if this happens on a regular basis negative fronts and are created and this may cause disturbance for long periods of time. It just sours the whole feel of the place.

Look on the forum the last few days. Really nice, right? People are enjoying their discussions. People are generally pleasant. And this happened after Warchild took a time-out (probably sulking somewhere).
