Why Brodeur will beat Patrick Roy's record

Brodeur's Devils have always been a solid team since winning their first cup in 1995. Roy has played for mediocre Canadiens line-ups until he was traded to Colorado near the end of his career.


I still think Patrick Roy is a better goaltender overall. He's probably the the greatest goalie to ever play the sport.

I always hated Roy and the damn Avs. I have always liked the Devils though. I have nothing else of relevance to say other than Brodeur will beat Roy's record seeing as how he is 2 wins away from beating it, the last I saw.

He tied it in Montreal 2-3 nights ago.

St-Patrick!

The only player to win the Conn Smyth trophy three times (most valuable in the playoffs). Of course he carried the Canadiens to the cup twice on his own (86 & 93) and also the 2001 Avalanche. When the Av's won in 1996 they had a very solid team with weak goaltending...in comes Patrick via trade with Canadiens and BAM a stanley cup the same year!
