That song is seriously freaking brilliant right next to Estranged! And it's really sad that those incredible songs are never really played!!  Do you think that it has to do too much with Slash? And that the songs are hard to perform live, well at least  for the  ones playing the instruments. Since even Slash had problems playing Estranged.

1) The instrumental was a work of Slash, which probably bears some amount of resentment
2) It was hard enough for him to perform it 18 years ago, let alone today, its only been played 3 or 4 times

I think they could play coma or estranged no problen,though i think axl would struggle a little with the ending of coma,trying to get that verse out in like 1 or 2 breaths but it would still kick ass! so would estranged imo

But that's the thing though cause Slash basically was all over the all the old songs and Axl still plays them so what's the difference?

that had Slash all over them so why not Coma, Estranged, Locomotive (has that song EVER been played live? )

maybe not but he still must be proud of them and he certanly does play smany of those songs live.

i think he likes the albums but is just not fond of the illusion era.

It maybe the length combined with playing songs that have more likability to people coming who only really listen to 'Best Ofs' style GN'R - the ones who only know SCOM, NR and WTTJ etc...

That or he just doesn't want to...

I would like to see them do Estranged live though.  :D

I can understand that - there're songs that I don't like 'cause they have negative associations.

Yeah I think you are right. And do you notice they only play two covers (KOHD & LALD) and the smash movie hit YCBM from those albums?
