Tommy Stinson Nixes Replacements ReunionPosted by Mitch Michaels on 02.23.2009GN'R bassist talks Replacements and a possible Guns tour...According to ex-bassist Tommy Stinson, the upcoming deluxe reissues could spell the end of The Replacements."It's not on the table," he says of a reunion. "I don't think we've got the quality takes. I think the best live record we could make is to gather up all the bootlegs, put them together and make it on our own. Those would actually make more sense."Rumors of a reunion peaked last fall, when Stinson and Paul Westeberg jammed in Minneapolis together for the first time since the band broke up in 1991. Coachella has repeatedly tried to bring the band back together for large sums."You know what? I just don't know if we have it in us," says Stinson. "We've played together and we have things to offer each other. But I think ultimately it's like, why would we do it? The question comes up every time. Why would we do it? Well, they'll pay us really great. Is that the reason to go do it or not? I don't know. I think Paul probably struggles with it more than I, because I haven't played those songs in 20 years. He has. To me, it sounds more of a fun idea to get up and play those songs again. Not for the money, but hey, it would be fun. Let's go do it. I don't think he's got in him, to be honest with you."Stinson continued, "I've got people I like to play with [laughs hard]. And I love Paul, but you don't really go start a new band with a guy you've already had a band with which was fairly successful."Tommy is the current bassist for Guns N' Roses, and says that the band may be touring on Chinese Democracy later this year.

fuck the replacements. I like a band called guns n roses but apparently you guys have never heard of them.
He definately confirmed No Replacement Reunion in this one....and it came in at the same time as the Rumored (Unconfirmed) as of yet Euro tour dates. In the Billboard interview the Marketing was praised for Overseas........(not US)and with the reissue kicked off by a tour followed by the next album things can become joyfully chaotic again.Ain't it a fuckin' blast riding a roller coaster??W.
Is that needed? Next time you feel like making a snarky statement like that think "what would Brett Motherwell do" W.
