not a bad review

Street of Dreams, Chinese Democracy and If The World are at least an 8.5

I like the bit at the end, its the GNR we NEED!

I disagree

1. Chinese Democracy.    Powerful sounding opening riff and awesome vocal delivery. Axl is more aggressive vocally on this song than the rest of the disc kinda reminicent of 'I Dont Care About You" from the spaghetti incident. However I think the guitar solos in this song are lacking for whatever reason. Theyre just boring.8/10

2. Shacklers Revenge.   I believe this to be the best track on the disc. Its completly different sounding then anything goin on in rock now but yet amazing. The music is great and the chorus is powerful and catchy. The guitar solos from bucket and bumble are amazing and fit the song well.  9/10

3. Better.  This is probably the most GNR sounding song on here with a catchy chorus and amazing vocal delivery. But, there a completely unnessecary section in the middle right before the jam part("I never wanted you to be so full of anger") with guitar noodling and funky rythem section I dont understand. It shouldve just been left out and doesnt fit the soung at all 8.5/10

4. Street of Dreams.  An Estranged/November Rain type song its opening piano section is awesome with amazing sound. Axls vocals are really intense in the beginning(I tried so hard to make you change your mind). To me this song is a better than November Rain. The guitar solos are just ok. You also cant help but hear all the pro tools fixing in this track 8.5/10

5. If The World.  I first heard this song from the 9 song leak i admit. Its pretty much the same except in the middle where they dropped the volume and bass(good idea). I really like the music and appreciate it being different but think the vocal ideas could have been better 6.5/10

6. TWAT   Same. appreciate this song is different and it initally starts off well but seems like it builds into nothing   6.5/10

7. Catcher in the Rye.  I first heard this back 2004 prob but it had Brian Mays playing on it. I think Axl wanted to change alot of what he did but Brian wasnt haven it. Bumblefoot solo on here is so amazing you dont miss anything though. Best solo on the cd. The rest of the music sounds like what the old GNR would have done if it didnt fall apart. 8/10

8. Scraped. This song has Buckethead written all over it. The chorus is catchy but Imo some of the higher vocals are unnessecary. 7/10

9. Rhiad and the Bedouins.  The vocals in this song are more aggressive like old Guns b.ut musically way different. I always thought the mix in this song could have been better. I heard in the leaks and on the final. Its seems they felt this was the right mix but the vocals during the versus sound muddy like there to many overdubs at once.  7/10

10.  Sorry.    Musically this song is awesome. The mix of Bucketheads parts and Robins acoustic parts mesh very well.  The vocals are laid back and just perfectally fitting with the music. The chorus with Bas is heavy and powerful. Lyrically from what Ive read in Axl interviews it sounds like this song is directed at Slash and Steven Adler but prob other people/situations as well. The guitar solo fits well  8.5/10

11.  I.R.S.  hmm. Always thought this song could have been better. The mix seems kinda weak and the rythem guitar sound is flat and boring. The lyrics are pretty silly as well. You can tell this song was written early on maybe 96 or 97. It was a good idea but couldve been takn further  6.5/10

12. Madagascar.  This song is epic and great sounding. I liked it right away when I heard them do it at the Vma's. The vocals star off being harsh and raspy like when Axl's voice would get sore on tour in 91-92 going into something smoother. Its obvious in the lyrics hes talking about moving on in his life and to a new beginning musically and personally("Free from all the chains we had together"). 9/10

13. This I Love.  I like the way this song stars off and the vocal delivery is great but than it starts to just get cheesy and songs drags on way to long. The guitar solo doesnt help. Its also long and boring and sounds like it should ve been in a Scorpions song in 1984. This songs prob about Stephanie Seymour.
5/10

14.  Ive tried to like this song because the music is interesting but it just never grabs me and the vocals dont make it anymore interesting. Its seems theyre trying to hard to do something different but it just isnt working for me. The lyrics seem like hes telling the fans hes not responsible for old GNR ending. At the same time it doesnt seem like Axl to be apoligetic.   5/10

8. Scraped - Man, Axl loves hearing himself sing. So much, that in this song he duets with himself!  :unibrow:

The only thing i really disgreed with on that review was the 7 given to Chinese Democracy, There was a time (sensational) and Prostitute are by far (in my opinion) the best on the album.

I thought it was a fair review, but "Better" is still the best song on the album
