Baz Bach said in an interview that there it's like a trilogy--  Since there was enough content for three albums.

Apparently the 3rd is to come out in 2012.

Axl's said it before it was gonna be a trilogy

Once in a 2002 show
In the 2006 rolling stone article, he said the remaining 20+ songs would be on 2 susequent 'sequels' to CD

And Axl even said in his posts that he's always thought of it as a double

I know, it's almost funny now

The thing is, he said it was gonna be released in a aweek, so surely everything legally had been done to allow it to be released. But it turned out rrecently that Lars has only just signed the release form, so surely when axl said it was gonna be released, not everything for the video had been finalised. Meaning he was just guessing and making it look to us like it was something solid

I think a 2nd or even a 3rd album will be a long way off right now. Judging by Axl recent comments, he would rather get the promotion problems sorted with Chinese Democracy and maybe get it pushed a little before he will even contemplate releasing another album.
Axl is probably just trying to cover every base, and rightly so. I can see from his posts on the forum as well as the billboard interview, that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than any of us thought.
It looks like difficulties with the record label and the fact that he has to do almost everything himself, has held everything up big time. But fair play to him, as the album is excellent and i'm delighted just to be able to buy a copy and enjoy it.

To be fair if they make another album or two from the stuff they have then thats just gonna show everyone how much work these guys have done,
but i don't think it will be soon, i would love it to be but can't see it
someone said 2012 for the 3rd....... i hope axl keeps to this deadline

Who knows for sure but I think the songs are out there to do at least another cd. Honestly, if only 14 songs were made in 13 years I would wonder what was going on with Axl. That comes to one song per year and while most of us here think the songs on CD are great that's a little excessive time per song.

Keep the faith, I think the next cd will come like Axl said- "same bat time, same bat channel."

He obviously worked on a lot more than 14 songs during that time.  Just those have been released so far.  If the next album is released in November, we can't assume that it was written and recorded during the year.
