Jim Morrison - could he still be alive?
« on: January 27, 2009, 09:49:36 PM »
Okay, I know my boyfriend WC will say Jim is not alive, but I had a chat with some coworkers today and they too think he's dead.

But, I perused on the net and found these:

Jim Morrison Alive And Living In The Seychelles?
July 6th, 2008 10:30am EDT  Post a comment    Read 8 comments

Rock legend Jim Morrison may be alive and living in the Seychelles, according to his former Doors bandmate Ray Manzarek.

The Doors keyboardist admits he became suspicious after Morrison died as the enigmatic singer had discussed the possibility of faking his own death and going into hiding abroad.

In 1971, a year after the alleged discussion, Morrison was found dead in his Paris, France apartment after reportedly suffering a heart attack after a drug binge.

And the bizarre circumstances of the tragic incident have led to continued speculation about whether the iconic rocker is still alive.

Manzarek tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "I often wonder if his death has been an elaborate charade. Jim was a restless soul, always looking for something else in his life, and even six years of success - and excess - with The Doors hadn't been enough for him. A year earlier, he had shown me a brochure for the Seychelles and said, 'Wouldn't this be the perfect place to escape to if everyone believed you were dead?'. At the time, I never thought anything of it."

Tabloid Show Claims JIM MORRISON Is Alive - May 21, 2005

Launch Radio Networks reports: No, it's not another rerun of the 1983 film "Eddie & the Cruisers" — there's a new report that says late DOORS frontman Jim Morrison is alive. Last night's (Friday, May 20) episode of the tabloid TV show "A Current Affair" had a story that Morrison is alive and well, and living in the Pacific Northwest. The show aired footage shot by a "cowboy filmmaker" named Gerald Pitts, who said, "In 1998, Jim Morrison had showed up at our rodeos, here in southern Oregon, and we discovered him living on a ranch, raising show-quality Arabian horses and paint horses. And I shot some footage of my friend...(and) Jim got in the motion picture film. One thing led to another."

Also featured on the show is Cherri Woods, who owns the building in Hollywood where Morrison lived before he moved to Paris. Woods, who gives tours of and rents out the property, also sells the Pitts film. She claims to have spoken to Morrison, and she told the show, "I was given Jim's telephone number and address and the alias that the FBI gave him that he's been living under. I have all of the information. Pages and pages of notes, of information I have verified that has shown me that (the video) in fact is Jim Morrison."

There's more "evidence" to the story, but you'll have to watch "A Current Affair" to see it. The show is syndicated, so check your local listings for the time and channel in your area.

It should be noted that there's been no comment from Morrison's bandmates on the story. Previously, keyboardist Ray Manzarek told Launch that he was sick and tired of all the sensationalizing, which comes at the expense of Morrison's true legacy: "Certainly we wouldn't want to — we wouldn't want to talk about the art of Jim Morrison or the poetry of Jim Morrison, would we?"

Now, I found this to be interesting from his Door's bandmate:

Manzarek tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "I often wonder if his death has been an elaborate charade. Jim was a restless soul, always looking for something else in his life, and even six years of success - and excess - with The Doors hadn't been enough for him. A year earlier, he had shown me a brochure for the Seychelles and said, 'Wouldn't this be the perfect place to escape to if everyone believed you were dead?'. At the time, I never thought anything of it

Others say that Jim feared being deported from the French Government?  WC help me out here.

And if Jim was so hated by the government, did he parallel John Lennon because Lennon was watched by the FBI or they had files on him?

I can see how someone like Jim would fake his death because no one appreciated him for his poetry and didn't he start the Doors as a joke - the "hey let's start a band" as portrayed in the movie.

Discuss.

If you think I am warchild, you are a moron.  I am his girlfriend.  We type nothing alike and there are certain people on this forum who know who we are but they will never tell!

It would be so awesome if it were true but he is most def passed on.  :tear:
we are going way back but if i remember right, he passed in Paris at the apartment
of his ex girlfriend.... cant remember her name...  (Im sure there is somewhere to look this up,
but i believe he is buried in Paris. im almost positive)

it was well documented.. i believe it was a heart attack. now i dont know about the FBI
keeping a file on him, he was going thru a case at the time... i may be wrong, but i think
it was for when he ummmm....  :paranoid: did some lewd behavior on stage..  :paranoid:

John Lennon did have a file because of how vocal he was during Vietnam. he was considered
a possible threat... which is stupid... he was just voicing his opinion on the war. i think he was
just targeted because he was a celeb....

wow...

jim --- heartattack
john -- murdered
elvis -- toilet attack

This is a Rare Copy of this book

Quote
Jim Morrison. AN AMERICAN PRAYER. Privately Printed ( by Western Lithographers in Los Angeles but not stated.) 1970.
POETRY / ROCK
12mo. 5 inches tall and 4 inches wide in slightly grained burgundy red boards gilt lettered on the cover. Has the appearance of a prayer book. Sometimes described as being bound in leather but believe me, it's faux. The only information printed inside is '© James Douglas Morrison 1970 All Rights Reserved' printed at the bottom of the verso of the blank front endpaper. It has 40 unpaginated pages, 37 printed. This is the first edition that Morrison had printed in 100 copies (?) as described at OCLC / World Cat and conforms with the copy sold at Pacific Book Auctions in 1993 (for $500.) A single visionary poem in Morrison's peak Dionysian style full of incantation-- 'Give us a creed/ To believe/ A night of Lust/ Give us trust in /The Night...'
