  • I couldn`t find emotion, so I settled for motion.
The album`s doing great.
Think about it...
-It took almost a year for AFD to start selling well, and then it turned out to be one of the best-selling debuts of all time, so let`s wait and see what happens, it`s only been a week after all
-Axl will NOT be broke if it doesn`t sell so well, don`t ya worry about him
-It sold more in a week than Libertad has sold so far (correct me if I`m wrong)
-You can`t expect it to sell so many copies in a world of illegal downolading! It`s not the 90s anymore!
-It`s clear the major music trend now is hip hop, so to be #2 in the US is actually an achievment!
-It`s only sold in BestBuy and I am sure this hurts sales
-The album`s already #1 in a lot of European countries
-It has sold so many copies WITHOUT any promotion!!!
-Sometimes I am convinved there are more haters out there than real fans, so it`s doing amazingly good!
Sorry,I know u wanted to be right but not this time....... :puke:

The album`s doing great.
Think about it...
How successful it'll be can only show the sales in the long term and without a video & promotion I don't think the album will do well compared to it's costs and the expectations. The buyers of the first week were mostly the die-hard fans who just made the album a good start. Now it's the turn of the mainstream listener.

While there are high points, for the most part these songs aren't even rock music. This is pop rock bullshit, and I wish this effort nothing but failure.

Axl, Slash, if either of you want to make good music, GET BACK WITH YOUR SONGWRITER: IZZY STRADLIN.

maybe I'll find another way,

I would definitely agree that the long gestation period has impacted sales of this CD, as have years of downloading of the demos. But, that said, it's still a terrific album - is it as good as 'Appetite for Destruction?' No, of course not - but, it doesn't have to be. I would say it's easily as good as either of the 'Use Your Illusion' albums - it's got a couple of great songs, along with several very good to excellent songs and one or two less than great tracks.

I do think this is a GNR album - and not just because it says so on the cover. It may not have any of the other original members, but, it does have Axl's voice and his vision, and I'd say that makes it "more" GNR than Velvet Revolver. VR isn't bad (their first album was pretty excellent, I think), but, everytime Scott Weiland opened his mouth, it made the band sound like STP. And, that's what's happening on 'Chinese Democracy' - everytime Axl opens his mouth, it sounds like GNR.

The real Guns n Roses REQUIRES Izzy Stradilin.
Izzy is as important as Axl in Guns' sound.
Izzy was the songwriter while Axl controls the melodies.

CD is very melodic because of Axl's melodies and way of writing dominating the songs.

It's all about "This Is I Love" and a box of Kleenex, word is bond.
