I dont know how many of you know this or have read Nikki Sixx`s book The Heroin Diaries but Geffen records wanted Nikki to produce G N' R`s debut album but declined cause he didnt feel he would be good for it since he was so fucked up on drugs at the time. One of the first shows I ever saw was 1987 Guns N' Roses & Mötley Crüe, at the time the only song I had heard was WTTJ but after the G N' R`s set I was blown away and have been a Die Hard fan ever since!

Your story sounds very similar to mine.  I saw them in 87 opening for Aerosmith and it was game on since then.  They not only blew me away, but they blew away Aerosmith.
