On Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus' website, 4tus.com, you can read that he will continue to support Rihanna on her world tour during December, but the next upcoming show on his schedule is the 2008 American Music Awards. Coincidently, Rihanna is one of the many artists scheduled to perform live at the show but that hasn't stopped the rumors about a Guns N’ Roses surprise appearance tonight.
According to the Examiner, a well placed music industry Deep Throat, there is a very good chance you’ll see Guns N' Roses onstage at the American Music Awards tonight on ABC.
“Axl wants to be the conquering hero,” says the source who has worked closely with some of the biggest acts in the world including Guns N' Roses. “The timing of the show on the night he brings out his masterpiece is too good for him to pass up. He knows it’s a good way to get in front of old and new fans in one swoop.”
The 2008 American Music Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will be broadcast live on Sunday, November 23 at 8/7c.
Richard played with Rihanna when she performed her number one hit "Disturbia" at the 2008 MTV VMAs. Fortus also supported Rihanna for her late fall tour of Australia and New Zealand.
