"Street of Dreams" is my favorite on the album, just edging out over "Better." I like "This I love" because Axl gets to flex his voice away from the trademark buzzsaw sound, which I still like. I think the different things on this album are valid. No one does the same thing twice or forever or wants to.
I think the bits and pieces of the song are just fine. Would it sound a little different if Slash played on it? Sure. And it would sound different and just as good if Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) played on it. I know people are going to say, WTH?... but trust me, Stewart is one of the all-around accomplished guitarists and he is the one I try to emulate in my guitar playing. The reason I mention this is that I don't look for or see a reunion because the problems are similar to what Mr. Roth encountered with Van Halen. I would invite anyone to read the memoirs, "Crazy from the heat."
For me, this album also shows that they don't need to reunite the original line-up for it to still be Guns and Roses. And by having a different guitarist, one can get a unique sound, just as the other band, VR, had a unique sound.
