Why they hell would they remove Brian May's work which was wonderful for some mediocre guitar work?
Because our mediocre n' sloppy guitar players played a much better and soulful lead than the mighty, the god himself Brian May. ;)

Those heavy riffs that were added in are garbage and feel incredibly out of place not to mention the solos make me c :'( A great song was ruined, Catcher was my 2nd favorite leak next to Better, now it's just incredibly meh. Brian May's work was superior. I respect your opinion, but I prefer the demo to the album version.

All of this..."I would've changed this arrangement or that....
is futile at this point.....You didnt write...play.....or produce that song....yeah harsh but true....

And in all actuality "catcher" is NOT about the book "catcher
in the rye"  It refers to the book Mark David Chapman had in his possesssion when He Gunned down John Lennon on
December 8th.....in front of the Dakota in NYC......

Mark David Chapman was asked by one of the NYC cops
"DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE???"
he replied...."Yes...I just shot John Lennon"
In his posession He had a copy of Catcher in the Rye...on which he had written...."this explains it all"
Also a cassette tape of Beatles songs in his pocket.....

I'll post a link so you guys can read the story......

And for strange facts on December 8  .....Lennon was shot
years later Dimebag was shot onstage on Dec. 8..
And Jim Morrison was born......

very heavy day......a day of very strong vibes to say the least......

Look at the Lyrics to "Catcher" and read the story...Link will be up momentarily.......

worst song on the album. The original leak was far better with brian mays guitar work. I know everyones saying it, but it's true. The new guitar solo just doesn't fit the song. It is a shame cos the other enhancements to the song are a great improvement. But I was never really a fan of the song from the beginning anyway. It starts off well, but it just seems to drag on and get boring, and seounds rather dull without ever really going anywhere. And axl maintains the same pitch in his voice the whole way through. But this a small gripe on the album. There are atleast 10 tracks on the album that are simply outstanding.

Probably my favourite or second favourite on the new album. At first I didn't like it too much and then it grew on me and now I love it.
This (:
At 1st i wasn't too keen on it but it's quickly becoming a favourite off the album lol

Not sure which solo I prefer though :\

I can't see why the final version is better. The solo stuff is just simplified so much that the epic feeling is gone.
This version doesn't beat most old GNR material and definately the best epic old GNR songs which were known for killer vocals and killer solo's.

I like the new version more than the first time I heard it, but during the song I keep waiting for those killer clean guitars to kick in .. and they don't come.

I cant for the life of me understand why "they" think this is better than the leak. Brian May nailed that solo so beautifully. It was classic in every sense of the word. This went from being my favorite new song to probably middle of the pack. Im starting not to like what BBF has contributed. Its just a mess. I prefer the melodic guitar playing as opposed to robotic
