i just like to be a little more critical, I still LOVE this record and I can play it from beginning to end every day for the rest of my life if I wanted to...but hopefully a new album will drop soon so I wont have to do that

I really hope for a new album..but I'll still listen to ChiDem and all the other old stuff for the rest of my life I just love Guns N' Roses

rate the singles

chinese democracy:

demos were better. live versions in 2001 were better. axl re-worked this song too many times. it was a bad choice for a first single. it didn't do well on the singles charts. not  a lot of radio airplay. jungle it isn't

shackler's revenge:

the perfect song for a zombie video game or a gruesome horror movie with lots of kills

better:

classic rock at its best. robin finck brings the slash magic on better's guitar work. axl keeps pace with an unbelievable pace on vocals

street of dreams:

despite robin finck stayin' cool with the solo, the song falls a little flat. earlier live versions in 2001 and demos were better. another song axl re-worked the wrong way. could have been great as a whole, but comes up short like the title track chinese democracy

if the world:

another song with music at its best. axl nails the vocals. robin and bucket nail the guitar. big song. too bad, was never released as a single. could have been huge on the charts

there was a time:

another big one. hip hop paradise city. axl wants to get away. rhyming a story. could be big in a drug movie like johnny depp's blow. robin and bucket bring the slash magic together on this one with big solos. could have been huge as a single and music video too

catcher in the rye:

a nice tribute to john lennon and yoko ono. only problem is brian may isn't on it. and it's rarely played live by axl. otherwise, a good one

scraped:

a fun song about being powerful and unstoppable. fighting for what u believe in. i feel it. it's cool

rhiad:

a filler song. but some of the lyrics makes me think of ancient sands and gypsies lol

sorry:

a combination of bon jovi and skid row. sounds like slash on pop guitar. another filler song lol did axl want to do itt?

IRS:

demos and live versions better than final. some of the guitar is too low in the mix. kinda filler. wasn't filler when it was first played live and when mike piazza leaked the demo

madagascar:

some parts sound too low in the mix. demos and previous live versions kinda took the sails out of this one. but it was great when i heard the rasp demo!

this i love:

the best rock ballad since november rain. axl does it. robin finck brings the slash magic with the guitar work. robin stings you in the gut with the solo. big production. big ballad. the best song on chinese. best rock song in a long time. could have been the greatest music video too. better than the popular november rain music video

prostitute:

previous demo was better. buckethead is big on guitar. but the demo kinda flips this one too. it is nice hearing. the outro sounds nice. a highlander movie feel
