Stop changing the content of the argument i never disputed that there are good players there besides that's all well and good but it doesn't really validate the league, the welsh play in the "English" league which raises the question why Scotland have a two horse race and several lower level teams when they could assimilate and have two championship teams and a host of extra league 2 and 1 teams. Of course suggesting that to Scottish people tends to elicit a patriotic William Wallace response but fuck it that's my opinion.

The notion Welsh sides play in the English league system is false. Both Cardiff and Swansea do however Wales has a league structure abstract from the English FA.

Perhaps other sides in domestic leagues within close proximity of others should assimilate into one competition? Perhaps the Norwegian bodies should form with the other Scandenavian leagues. Canada, the US & Mexico should discard the MLS and assimilate too. No, let's respect there are cultures and histories to these respective forms of football and not engage in some form of football imperialism.

Those countries are all independent from each other. Scotland is not an independent country. Although it does seem you are correct about Swansea and Cardiff which does raise the question of why they're in the English league at all. True enough they have i had overlooked that i apologise, however they'd still have the ability to earn that right in the English league system. Scottish logic makes no sense to me i guess.

The Old Firm joining the English leagues will never happen, and here is why:

1) The SPL would lose almost all television coverage, and the resulting drop in money would crush the other SPL clubs.
2) The other clubs actually like having the Old Firm in the SPL; it gives them somebody to hate.
3) The Old Firm fans are in the unique position of enjoying domestic invincibility, but when it comes to Continental football, they are undoubtedly the underdogs, giving them the best of both worlds. It is doubtful whether either club would win anything in the English leagues, and this would not be acceptable to the fans
