Haha strange reasoning to root for McLaren for being English, since every single team except for Ferrari, Sauber & HRT are at the moment located in England and besides McLaren, Williams, Lotus are also English, while teams like Red Bull, Force India and Caterham are only not English because their owner is Austrian/Indian/Malaysian.

I agree, the new HRT doesn't look bad. I think they're going to beat Marussia, but it will still be pretty hopeless. I think only Caterham has the potential to grow to be a strong midfield contender.

That's true, but only the Mclaren, Williams and Lotus teams have a history/tradition within British motorsport.

Many of the existing teams were in earlier incarnations also British teams:

Force India - Spyker - Midland - Jordan

Red Bull - Jaguar - Stewart

Mercedes - Brawn - Honda - B.A.R. - Tyrrell

yes, but none of them teams have any pedigree, nor were they held within high esteem. Not to mention that they were relatively short lived in comparison to the others.

Tyrrell won championships with Jackie Stewart back in the early seventies and existed until 1999. The other 2 were less impressive, with Jordan existing from 1991 to 2005, winning 4 times with Hill & Frentzen & Fisichella. And Stewart existed from 1996 untill 2000, with one victory for Johnny Herbert.

Well my knowledge of F1 does not extend back to the early seventies and them facts about Tyrell surprised me somewhat.

In relation to the other two, my observations were correct.
