I so love High Hopes and Learning to Fly  :)

Even though I really like those two songs. That isn't real Floyd.

Animals is their greatest peice of work followed by Wish You Were Here.

Totally digging this band, they've grown on me over time, gone from a bit of a meh band, to FUCK YES!

Wish You Were Here is brilliant from start to finish, but Dark Side is still the album that does it all for me, my favourite song is probably Us & Them, I bloody love it!

Animals is brilliant, but terribly morose(like life itself) and is mostly Roger.
To say Dave is better than Roger or vice versa is pointless-Roger has a fantastic lyrical and conceptual brilliance where Dave is a fantastic musician and singer.
Neither has been as good on their own, although Id probably side with Daves Pink Floyd although its not the same.
Collectively they were at their peak with Dark Side and Wish You Were Here, with all members contributing music and Waters doing the lyrics.
Since Roger left,Gilmours girlfriend/wife Polly Samson has written the lyrics.
Remember that Night is fantastic-so is In The Flesh.
Pink Floyd were the greatest band of all time, the soundtrack to my life.

They are both good in their own way and you need both to make it whole

I used to like Pink Floyd a lot (old and new versions of the band), but nowadays I've grown a bit tired of the "mega albums" like Dark Side, Wish you were here or The Wall and rather listen to the psychedelic masterpiece "Piper at the gates of dawn" (RIP Syd Barrett).
Saw them live in 1994, quite an experience.  :)

Btw, they had an extra guitarist on the tours of 1987-1995, called Tim Renwick (he'd also played with Roger Waters a few years before!!!). He's a well-known session guitarist and played with nearly everybody, from Bowie and Elton John up to Eric Clapton (and many many more).
If interested, check his website.

He's done a solo album (instrumentals), one track (Open Road) sounds very "Floydish" to my ears! (I think you can listen to some of his stuff on his myspace.)

Haven't listened to Animals yet but I love The Wall and Wish You Were Here
I might be a little young but honey I ain't naive.

My ass is usually called Myles Kennedy because he can deliver Mr. Brownstone so perfectly and so naturally. My ass is the best singer of modern rock.
