Pink Floyd is one of my top 5 fav bands of all time.. you can't go wrong with them but my favorite albums are Wish you were here, Animals and DSOTM all of em are among the best albums ever made! not many bands can compete with that.

PF - one of my loves forever!
Got lots of albums, whether original cds, lps, mcs, or burned.
I've bought new Gilmour recently and it's cool, too. Dwnlded Amused to death by Waters and really like it.
Anyway, Gilmour proved that PF could do without Waters very well, see The Division Bell etc.

Favourite album is the wall, greatest album of all time.

While I like gilmour's vocals more. Roger was the genuis that made pink floyd so great. that's not to say gilmour didn't have talent though, he carried on floyd quite respectably after waters departure. But I think Waters was just what made them as great as they were.

we just watched The Wall today in one of my classes (i've seen it like 85902135 times already, but yea).  everyone was trippin balls when they saw the flowers fuck eachother.

Waters > Gilmour overall.

Shit, man I'd love to attend a school where they watch PF The Wall during the lesson!! Never happened to me, sadly.

gilmour, waters....the real hero of pink floyd is really sid. not cause his work was the best...but because he inspired the other members to the extent which is he did. not to mention being half of the original formation. without sid, pink floyd does not exist.

and shame on every1 else for not even mentioning him.

Are the constant references to Syd Barrett's apparent downfall thru drugs etc (Wish You Were Here, Shine On YCD, Brain Damage, Comfortably Numb(?)) considered a bit exploitative of him by many Pink Floyd fans, because to a casual outsider it probably seems that way. I mean, especially since the last thing he would want in his state would be a shitload of attention by obsessed 'fans', even though PF could claim it was in tribute and so on. I bought WYWH once and this idea together with the instrumentals which I thought made them uberpretentious bothered me a lot. It bothered me that it was as though I had to completely accept it as a grand statement about Syd and take a similar view about Syd as them or else I couldn't get into it.
