So would the Herman Li / Steve Vai duo consist of Vai playing whilst he puts his balls Herman's mouth?

Or would Herman actually be given a guitar?

Yeah I know, he played a duet on The Reaper, some dude did a big write up about it on the Vai forums. I saved a shitload of pics from that event on my comp.

He's only there because he's an Ibanez endorser. So was fucking Matt Roberts from 3 Doors Down, doesn't make him a guitar hero.

Yeah I'm not saying Herman is terrible. He's a shitload better than any emo "guitarist" or whatever, but he ain't the shred god that many n00bz would have you believe. There's better choices is what I'm saying I guess.

i cudnt agree more hes over rated (possibly the best new guitar talent has really appeared in the last year but still over credited) hes famous as being amazing i think coz hes the ony really fast guitar player shown on tv channels these days, i just think with vai doing melody and herman doing some fast sections in a twin solo for a band it wud sound fairly interesting lol i wasnt claiming he was anything special coz i dont believe he is. on a side note what do u think of king and hanneman in slayer in terms of how there style tone and techniques contrast

which part do u think is bollox?

Both Buckethead and Vai run circles around Li and Batio.

Buckethead and Vai are accomplished virtuoso's with an in-depth genius level of knowledge of guitar and music. Li is a guy who can't even play the Amaj7 sweeps he uses so often and Batio, well...

which part of batio in that video is bad exactly do u mean the whole hair metal thing ? and as for herman generally he can do it when he isnt pissed if u look at this years download festival he did the song very accurately although 90% of his shows he tends to be pissed (usually not as bad as totman but still pissed)

batio's playing in that video was completely off key most of the time, his 'solo' was just appalling sounding chromatic runs with no thought to phrasing, harmony, tonality, y'know the things that make music sound good.

As for Li, the stuff he plays is no where near the level of true virtuoso's.

i c and appaling is an opinion, Li doesnt claim he is a virtuoso and nor do i, i just like his style of playing and how he doesn't take himself 2 seriously
