uhh yeah i really did that look,

im curious as to how including that in my post is dodging the subject which is chinese products, DID U FUCKING READ THE POST????????? and calling sunny p arrogant when u have iconic in ure username is fucking hillarious

Did you read this part amigo? "I'm not talking about what they manufacture based on what foriegn business pays them. I'd like to see a list with things like..."

I'm not talking about plastic and toys.

Its easy to take all these globally outsourced projects to chinese factories, pay your overpopulation whatever you want in poor unhealthy working environments, AND cut manufacturing corners to turn a big profit for your government and obviously booming economy.

Thats whats done in China. Fact.

Does anyone know what the minimum wage is in China?

And get off my freaking name.  What kind of point was that? Would you rather I use my real name?

I personally like Masters over "iconic" anyday.

^ Yeah but Iconic they are providing a vital part in a global economy that nobody else is prepared to do. They do have an awful environmental record and horrible working conditions. That's a fact. But no other country is prepared to do this to themselves because there are too many trade and industry laws and unions that wouldn't allow this.

The minimum wage in China is incredibly low but can be set that way when you have a workforce of 1 billion people all competing for low skill and poorly paid jobs. The working culture is that of 'well if I dont do then someone else will' which is exactly the same working attitude that we have in the West.

In the current political structure in China is condusive to a braindrain. Young well educated Chinese people are leaving and taking their skills West because the political system historically fears well educated people as it see's them as a threat. When they go all you are left with two distinct categories of workers with no middle class: bosses, and proletarians in sweat shops. This suits the system fine because all of the middle executive decisions can be made by people in the West for companies like Nike, Adidas etc. However this is a situation that we have put them in and they have brought upon themselves.

The business structure in the West is very different: the bosses rely on skills of both proletarians and educated workers to progress

o yeah i agree china is easy to profit off of for the west, minimum wage is pretty shit anywhere so im guessing in china its probably not worth the effort. And well put it this way if i were to put my user name as "kill gays" or "i hate black people" or some racist or homophobic shit then call some1 else a racist/homophobe would be hipocritical its the same with u saying sunnyP is arrogant. For the record im not racist or homophobic
Apparently a new Amy Winehouse 'Greatest Hits' collection is coming out, but the tinfoil and spoons aren't included.

Dude. Read.

He said I was arrogant based on my freaking handle.

Read more if you want to find out wtf we were talking about.

btw, I learned yesterday that China has shoe factories (for 9 West) which pay employees a solid... $10 a WEEK.

Lets keep applauding China's economic boom which really only affects the rich owners of these factories.  Fuck the millions of oppressed people who live there as long as they bump America out of that #1 spot.  Thats the way.

^ So how does it affect you?

Do you care so much because they might compete for the No.1 spot soon?

Do you care about the rights of the people that are being forced into slave labour?

Do you just want to have a rant and show how the way you do it so much better?

What's your motive Iconic?

My company hired 2 Chinese guys who spent 3 months in the states being trained and all that other stuff.

Within the 3 months I got cool with one of them who explained to me how China is really and how much he appreciated America and the freedoms we have here.

On this forum I've constantly seen you guys praise China and back the country simply on the basis of knocking America.  When I asked what it was about China you guys backed so much all I heard was ..........

When I asked what (non-foreign) Chinese products you like all I heard was .........

I have nothing against China or its people but I do have something against people being treated unfairly. I also know that there is little we can do the WORST FUCKING THING we could do is be indifferent to it and just ignore it because... their economy is booming.

I could care less if we're "#1" in the world.  We could be 500th and I'd still love this country for what it was founded on. Its rich proud history and the advancements we've been able to make as a unified people. Sure we've made mistakes but we've moved beyond that.

Women couldnt vote. They didnt like it. The were heard and got their voting rights.

Blacks couldn't do anything. They didnt like it.  They stood up, marched and got their rights.

We're not perfect but we've done REALLY fucking good for a country that opens its arms to people of EVERY color and creed.  There will always be racist individuals and arguments about religions but at least here we can openly talk about ANYTHING in hopes of getting somewhere. And we have.

Try and have 3 different buildings of worship (Christian, Jewish and Muslim) on the same block somewhere else.

Ok fair enough.

Do you think that as Americans you benefit from sweat shop labour or do you think that it doesn't affect you in your day to day life in any way?

I believe we are all linked by a global economy and we all benefit from their labour indirectly. Perhaps these guys are doing you a favour?

Millions of jobs are shifted over to these countries who don't give a shit about people by companies that are more interested in money than anything.

I actually REALLY dislike that about America but its mainly humanity issue... Greed. Its everywhere no?

I don't benefit from it at all though. It might cost 10 cents to make but I still pay $90.

I don't mind people getting rich, but at what long term cost?
