so, im going to the us this summer, since guitars are cheaper there im getting my first electric guitar there.
but a lot of people say that guitar center sucks because they throw guitars and don't treat them well, so they might be broken or something
could you recommend me a good guitar shop? im gonna be in la for the longest time, so please try to think of a shop in california.

I'd look in the phone book when you get there, do some research on the store before you go, and make your own judjment about the service and such when you arrive.

Go to local stores.  Don't go to any chains.  Guitar center is bull shit how they treat their equipment.  There are local stores every couple of miles I'm sure, theres at least three within a ten minute drive of me.

Has anybody ever ordered anything off of musicianfriends.com? If so, what is there service like.

Go with the local thing btw...look in the yellow pages for guitars, music, and repair (even for amps, I got a guitar once at an amp shop, it was wonderful).

I did, nothing that expensive though.

They're reliable. I've never had to return anything though
