Who cares, if the set list is the same. I didn't care and if you do then you wouldn't go to the show and hence don't need to bitch about it.
It was mind blowing, i mean i wasn't sure if Axl would play CD or MADDY, I mean Axl can just go NOT TONITE... And for a guy who hasn't seen GNR before it was mind blowing.
As for the wanker who threw wot ever, hopefully he got his ass kicked.

It isn't a long term strategy though is it.

Playing a load of songs from the late 80s early 90s, and the same handful from an album that may never be released.

If they keep touring constantly, they are gonna burn out their fans with this setlist.

He's in danger of doing a 'Mike Love' and filling out setlists with the same songs, until his group are forgotten as nothing more than a nostalgia act.

Your theory is complete and utter shit, they are playing in places, such as Australia that haven't been played for 14 fucking years! Even the US hadn't had any Axl love for a good 4 years. That makes no fucking sense. He can't burn them out when he hasn't done it several hundred times, he's only been playing each place once or twice.

Sure I go blah blah when reading the same setlist, but then again I'm not at the concerts and I didn't buy a ticket.  So the fuck with what I care.  If the crowds loving it, good for them.  GNR is the only band I've paid attention to a setlist like this.  So blah.

Really, the only reason I am interested in having a changing setlist is that it shows that the band can play their other material that may be a bit more complex (Estranged and Coma).

He wasn't even that late going on stage from the sound of things.  He took the stage 50 minutes after Baz left, and you gotta take into account the time it takes to change the set and get everything working properly.  So at the worst he was 20-30 minutes late.  Hardly worth getting upset over when you know hes gonna give you a helluva show for 2 and a half hours.

Hmm.. I dare say if they can play There Was A Time (and they did, twice) they could play some fairly generic, yet great sounding, pentatonic scale Slash riffs.

Yeah, they played it at Madrid, it's must better instrumentally, but Axl sounds better 10 fold at New York.

If I get a free decade in which to upload it, I shall! (56k user :puke: )

To the fucking idiots who call the shows boring:

Have you been to a show? More than one? Look, I've been to 21 shows in 2006 and 2007 so far. They played a similar setlist every night, that's true. But the shows were *NEVER* *EVER* boring, not a single one, and there were no 2 shows that were "same" or "similar" either. So, now that it's not boring for me, why should it be boring for someone that sees em for the first time?

You got a girl/boyfriend? You fuck him/her more than once? Why, it's always the same, right?

If you got nothing better to do than sit on your ass and reload the update thread, i agree that it's boring. But please fuck off and try to find yourself a life.

But IMHO it's useless a tour where they're playing the same setlist all times. Maybe just change some songs for a couple of nights, let's see the reaction and then go back to the usual...
there's nothing useless about it, they always tour different places and those places have NOT had that setlist, and don't care about the setlist not changing. Rather than whining about the setlist they're there having a great time.  It's just the random amount of people that go to forums to check out the updates rather than going to the gigs itself that somehow feel like they've got something to complain about
