My seats were right at the top of the first bowl with the stage to the right of me!! MMM finished his set around 9 o'clock... Then was the "Show your tits" part of the show which was surprising because alot of girls were flashing, making out and showing their thongs!! Axl came on the mike from backstage and said "I'm only gonna say this once, cause I have a sore throat, but guys keep your eyes on the screen and ladies take your shirts off!!"
I noticed the crowd grow a little bit impatient as Axl hadn't given the cue to start the concert... People were saying that he was the same old asshole axl and all this other shit.. and that they aint shit without the ex-GNR lead guitarist and just comments like that.. Then, at 10:50 the lights went out and the moment that I was waiting for after 10 years finally came!! There was an intro but just one that sounded like synthesizers. Then, Finch starts off Jungle and the crowd went absolutely apeshit!!! I was getting chills down my spine just watching it all. There was 16,000 people. A sold out crowd!!! There was not an empty seat in the house!! Axl looked very into the show and in a good mood right off the bat.

After Jungle, they went into Its so Easy, Mr. Brownstone, and Live and Let Die. I could tell that Axl was feeling very good and he was energized by the reaction of the crowd. Before they started KOHD, Axl said very nicely, "Thank you guys so much!!" Then, they played You Could be mine, Out ta get me, Rocket Queen. Then, it was Robins solo, and Sweet Child Of Mine which was the ultimate crowd pleaser... You couldn't even hear Axl singing the crowd was so loud!! Then, Axls piano solo which he played a joke song for a couple seconds and then cracked a joke, which I couldn't make out what he said. November Rain started and the showers of fireworks completed the song!! Then, he introduced the band. When he introduced bucket he said, "You wouldn't think we could pull this one out of our hat.. pardon the pun..." Buckethead truly showed his musical genius and skill and those same fuckers that said that GNR was done, were all standing and cheering with their jaws dropped to the Floor!! Then, they played Madagascar which got a nice response. They follwed that by the Blues. Axl said "I don't normally say this... but there is alot of fucking girls here tonight!!!!

There was this girl who asked one of the security guys how she could get backstage passes," and Axl said "just look for David Lee Roth in the crowd!! " Afterwards, they played Think About You, followed by a rant about how there was a riot in MTL 10 years back and the riot in Vancouver and about how it is just a coincidence that they happened in Canada..... Then he said "I woke up one morning and saw a riot on TV and I thought I missed a show!!" Then he said.. "and about Montreal, we will continue a discussion later with my good friend Lars!!" He obviously was very sarcastic the way he said it!!

They played Patience, followed by Nightrain and then ended with an encore of Pardise City. With streamers that my buddy hooked me up with!! As far as the performance itself, I have never experienced the energy and shear reaction from a crowd that I did on Friday night!! I was spectacular. You could tell that everyone was into the band and once they saw it for themselves what the new group sounded like they were making so much noise!! Every one of the members got a good cheer.. but Buckethead was the crowd pleaser by far!!! The band sounded so tight and Axls voice was better than it ever did.
