As soon as Axl was sighted the chants turned into screams, and with the intro to Welcome To The Jungle ripping through the arena, and Axl's trademark screech of 'Do you know where you are?!', the crowd went crazy. They played flawlessly through It's So Easy and Mr. Brownstone, until Axl informed the crowd they would be leaving the stage for a couple of minutes due to technical difficulties. However, the atmosphere did not die, people were still chanting for Guns, and for Axl, and they re-appeared once more. One of many highlights throughout this performance, was November Rain. This gargantuan ballad was played beautifully by all members of the 'New Guns,' and as the climactic 'sing-along' ending began, sparks showered down from above the stage, and everyone watched in awe.
After Sebastian Bach's fierce performance of My Michelle, Axl turned to face the crowd and started, 'Carrying on the theme of friendship...' There need not have been more of the introduction, everybody went crazy as they realised, that Izzy was appearing in front of them tonight. With the introduction over, Izzy strutted on stage, smiling, raising a hand to the crowd and hugging Axl, before launching into his allocated songs. The atmosphere could not have been more electric, as the lights were dimmed yet again, for Guns encore.
GUNS AND ROSES, GUNS AND ROSES......
Suddenly, the opening guitar to Paradise City was started up, and impossibly, the screams got louder. Axl twirled around the floor, his voice still amazingly, as good as it was all those years ago, as each guitarist flew from one end of the stage to the other. Richard Fortus was spotted gripping a rose between his teeth towards the end of the song, (I know because I threw it!) and as it neared it's end, the crowd were showered with a seemingly never-ending amount of ticker-tape.
As Guns left the stage, the crowd were still screaming, and hungry for more, of what had been an amazing, amazing show
