Oh my god!

Went to see GNR in Hellsinki last night and I have to tell you that they really kicked ass. The Hartwal Arena was packed (about 11000 people) and the audience was in really good mood. Time went by and after the local support band everybody started to wait to see the real thing. And they waited, and they waited... for 1,5 hours!

Parts of the audience started to get upset and I think that some of them even tought that they won't come at all.

But around 10.45 p.m.(they were supposed to start around 9 p.m.) the lights went out and the intro kicked in and when the first riffs of Sweet Child of Mine started everybody forgot that thay had to wait so long. The arena exploded!

The show was fucking awesome! The setlist was the normal setlist that they have seemed to play without Izzy coming in. Sadly the encore was only Paradise City. They played 3 of their new songs (one of them was The Blues, one was Better and the third one I don't know by name but it had really cool video including Martin Luther King and all that, you know the song). The stage was good and the pyros worked really well. I almost soaked myself when they shot the big flames in Live and Let Die for the first time! =)

Funny thing was that when Robin played his first solo, he played "Finlandia" which is a famous classic song made by Sibelius (Finnish composer). Dizzy's piano solo was "Don't you ever leave me baby" by Hanoi Rocks and he was really happy when the audience singed along when he played.

The band seemed to have a really good time, lot's of smiles and they were really full of energy from the beginning till the very end (the show ended around 1.15 a.m.). Axl wasn't talking much between songs, just made few comments about the Swedish cops etc. Funniest thing that he said was when some idiot from the audience shouted "Fuck You" to Axl he replied something that "you don't have to be here and most of the people are having a good time so FUCK YOU TOO!!" =)

When the show ended and people started to leave the arena, all I could hear was "that was amazing", "the new material was really good", "Axl was in really good shape" and "Axl has never sounded that good"... main thing is that I didn't hear anyone complaining!!

I just hope that all those people who didn't get their tickets because the comments like "It's not the same thing without Slash and Duff" now hear from their much wiser friends, that "no, it's not the same, IT'S BETTER!!".

I'm still hoping to find tickets for tonights show but I doubt I'll never get them. But I don't mind... Last night I saw them, I heard them and I FUCKING LOVED THEM!!
