i was maybe lookin' like an complete idiot...but i was in shock. There was a woman tryin to sell him something, he didn't understand her, and she didn't know who she was talkin' to:) today, i wonder "why did not i talk to him???" ...damn....
well. the rest of the day and early evening, me and a friend of mine enjoyed som beers, lookin forward to the show. I was thinkin the band would be late. because of the incident with Axl in Sweden. and i was right. at 22.00, we decided to enter the venue. Oslo Spektrum. and on my way in, i was this year's first Santa Claus!! I saw a man, he was looking very anxious. i was asking him is everything allright? he was looking inside the venue. he told me he's two children was inside (abouy 13 years old) So, i asked him: "do you want to go inside, and enjoy the show with your children?" he said of course yes, so i gave him a ticket. i had one more, so why not make someone happy?
well. 22.30 and finaly: Welcome To The Jungle, an d Axl's "Do you know where you are???" i was in heaven. Me and my friend was thinking: "front row!!!" and suddenly, there we was. in front of the stage. Cool!!! and Axl was lookin' at me and smilimg:) at one point, when Axl was at the right-hand side of the stage, i was lookin at Dizzy and waving with my arms like hell, and he was looking at me, smiling and waving back!!! (is it by the way called waving in english? ....)
it was the usual setlist for this show. well: 19 songs, (5 usual new ones) 3 giyuar solos two piano solos one drum solo and one gituar duet. They played for two n' half hours. Dizzy played a bit of A-Ha's monster hit "Take On Me" in his piano solo. And Axl called the fans in the venue motherfuckers. since so many of us did know the lyrics of the new songs. and he said: "you may know dis song....downloading from internet is bad!! (motherfuckers!! you bad Norwegians!!! Tommy Stinson was smiling the whole show. Ron thal was big! Axl was in good mood. running, dancing, jumping smiling. talking a lot to the other guys. The drummer was very good! Dizzy is Dizzy, he's amazing. People were going nuts when the classic songs were played. and just ok when the new songs were played. exept: when they ålayed "Madagascar" i was thinkin* "What??????" there were SO MANY who were singin along in the Venue. So i guess, so far Madagascar is the favourite new GNR song in Norway. (for me it's The Blues"
during Paradise City i was lookin' at Axl, and too late i saw Ron Thal walkin' in front of the fans letting them touch he's gituar. i was like "DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Finck was throwing bottles of water to the crowd. And god allmighty!!! the konfetti: ULTRA COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! looking up in the air....the konfetti.....shit...awsome!!
This was i great consert. the band was happy, Axl was happy, but not at the swedish police. (you know he was talking about when rent-a cops- go-bad:)
The band came to Norway from Sweden the night Axl came out from jail. The band was sitting in the airplane at the airport for four hours (???)
And the next day, Axl is reported staying in the bus, in the Spektrum Garage most of the day. No one knows why.
well. july 8th, they are back in Norway, ond once again, i will be there:)
GNR is very good in 2006. period!!
