06-26-06 | Stockholm Sweden 2006 Review 2
by NovemberChild

Over the past two months I've heard and seen various clips from the GNR 2006 tour.
Many of you know like I before are uncertain if Axl voice is still good enough, cause when it sound
like crap they all blame the sound technicians or the technology the used to record.
I was nervous about the show I can admit that, I didn't know if I would be satisfied.
Then started support groups Bullet for my Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold, BFMV were terrible (according to me)
I'm not a fan and have never heard their songs before this show, Avenged Sevenfold came up next who were awsome, and like BFMV I've never listend to them prior to this show, naturally I was affraid that AS would be the better ones live this night what with my nervousness.

The hole show was delayed from the start and I'm not sure if it was 50 minutes or and hour but finally you could here those notes that made rock history (you know what I mean if your a fan). And when I heard "Do you know where the fuck you are!?" I knew that I was worried for nothing, I felt like I had jumped in to a timemachine and was where I stood 15 years earlier when GN'R last played Globen. His voice is where it was then, it's actually better then that UYI tour DVD from the Tokyo concert from 1992.
I was a fool to be skeptic I realise that now.
Although Axl in the begining had a black open shirt which was a little bit disturbing cause he had alittle more gut then I wanted to see, he had the fucking voice, I can't stress that enough. Yes he is older alittle bigger around the waist but he is the same man he was back then.

Welcome to the Jungle

It's So Easy

Mr. Brownstone

Live and Let Die

Robin Solo

Sweet Child O' Mine

Knockin' On Heaven's Door :
Fantastic, people who have seen the Freddy Mercury Tribute, this was the exact same thing, although before Axl said "I sing one the you sing one" everybody cheered cause tehy knew when Axl paused what was going to happen. Before the last "knock knock knocking on heavens" door Axl says to Richard I think. "Wow those last ones were pretty loud I don't think they can do it even higher" as to provoke us and by some kind of a miricale it was a whole lotta louder (although everyone and I mean EVERYONE sang when Axl asked for us to sing.

A piano roles out and everyone is expecting November Rain, well up comes Dizzy to the piano, everyone else in the group is not to be seen, and he starts to play SOS by ABBA.

The Blues

You Could Be Mine

Fortus Solo

November Rain

Bumblefoot solo:
The crowd didn't catch on to it as I would have hoped

Madagascar

Nighttrain:
After this Axl says something like "Thank you and goodnight" and people are confused but after a couple of minutes they come back on stage.

Chinese Democracy

IRS

Patience:
Hillarious in the middle of the song someone threw a white t-shirt, Axl picks the cap up, then some one throws a black t-shirt in his hands and drops the white one and the black one so he picks up the white one throws it in a speaker or something behind him, then picks up the black one unfolds it and spreads it across the chest and it says "Guns N' Roses Old time" and looks like the Jack Daniels brand. he throws it back and there is a white cap lying where he just had picked up the shirts. So he picks it up and at the sametime someone throws another black shirt with POISON (the group) on it and says "Did someone think I played in Poision?" and throws it in the pile, and he puts on the white cap for awhile and throws it in the pile.

Paradise City

It was a wonderful concert the crowd was excited and sang along to every song even some of the new ones, Axl ran around as would be expected, every song played great (although he sang alittle worse after running around for so much), sure you might miss Slash, Duff and Izzy (who didn't play here sadly) but you really got the feeling that this was Guns N' Roses they did an excellent jobb and I'm an avid fan of theirs and I was overly satisfied.
It was more, much more than I had hoped for in the most positive way.
