EVERYBODY was bored. NEVER seen that many people bored in a rock concert EVER! And I have seen a few over the past 25 years!
Then the sets stops, and this chick comes back on stage to say to check them out at their website. Looked like a cheap TV add that you see when ure zapping at 1 AM. PASS PLEASE!
After 30 minutes of wait or so, Baz comes on stage. WOW, He's exactly like I seen him 15 years ago in Montreal. HE was fuckin' rockin. And everybody was rocking with him. He even said to the crowd that he likes a lot being in TORONTO..HAHAHAHAHA..He was in Ottawa....HAHAHAHAHA Everybody started booing him. For 10 seconds, before continue to rock. I must say, he's a helluva opening act.
Than the long wait started. It's not before midnight that GnR hit the stage. It was the first time I see them since May in Hammerstein ballroom. They are tighter, better, and they rock so much more than in N-Y. What a tight band that is. It was almost the same set as in N-Y, except for Madagascar that they play instead of Chinese Democracy. I was so happy. This song is simply AMAZING!
Another difference is that Axl talks less than in N-Y. In N-Y he spoke to the crowd almost between every song. In Ottawa yesterday, he barely spoke to the crowd. But hey, we are there to hear him sing, not talk.
During Knocking on heavens door, Merck MErcuriadis was on the side of the stage. He was so close to the front of the stage, I taught he was coming to speak to us...But no, he went back backstage! No Chinese Democracy release date! LOL.
They sang Richard Fortus a Happy Birthday...It was lotsa fun! All the guys were amazing. Ron is so fuckin cool, and he rocks like no other on guitars. Diz as always was at his best! Everybody seemed to have a great time.
Just some assholes in the crowd that were leaving halfway threw the show. It was probably too late for their little brain...;)
The show finished at 2h15 AM. The time to get back home in Montreal, it was 5 AM. Wow, what a fuckin' day that was.
The best part of all that is: I'M LEAVING IN 1 HOUR FOR QUEBEC CITY! I really hope Axl will fuckin' rock Quebec city like crazy tonight! We, Quebecers deserve a fuckin' treat! After the 1992 riot at the Olympic stadium, due to the cancellation after 40 minutes of show, I think Montrealers deserve a ROCKIN night!
I really hope to meet couple of guys tonight from the band. If not, well, it will be some other time I guess!
If some of you are asking themselves if it's worth it to go see the Gunners, JUST DO. IT IS! It's the best rock act you can see!
Tomorrow, I will post the review of tonights show in Quebec city! Come and read it!
I'm off to Quebec city dudes and dudettes,
Lotsa love from Montreal,
LAURENT
