A bunch of the people in our section started screaming when we spotted Sebastian so he partially popped out and flashed us the horns, he then grabbed a guy who was taping on a camcorder for him and had the guy takes shots of our section while Bach concintued yelling to us and flashing the horns. Bach really got the crowd pumped up for GNR and he is still one hell of an amazing front man! Both him and Axl commented throughout their sets how Baltimore was an amazing crowd and you had the feeling that our crowd was the best crowd of their tour thus far. Immediately after Bach's set ended the GNR crew went to work setting up (Bach's set ended around 10:30). The GNR crew just got done settings things up and at 11:00 on the mark the lights went out and fink took the stage hitting the opening notes to the Jungle. This was my first time seeing them live, and eventhough I'm a guy I'm not embarrassed to say I got choked up when Jungle hit. With this being my first show and hearing internet reports of supposed shitty solos and such I wasn't sure what to expect but let me tell you this, I could go the rest of my life without seeing another concert and last night was the best concert experience of my life. Axl was electrifying on stage. He hit every note and his voice was absolutely flawless. And as for the solos I feel each one rocked (Fink, Fortus, Dizzy and BBF) and so did the crowd. No one left their seats for a piss break and most of the crowd was way into the solos. Also take note that during the solos it wasn't just Axl left the stage, all band members except the one doing their solo went backstage so it wasn't Axl running back to hit some oxygen machine or some shit. Axl had a few great rant moments, he seemed to be overwelmingly enjoying himself and the responses the crowd gave throughout the night. After they finished the Blues Axl goes "and now we'll continue right along with some more songs that only a COUPLE OF YOU KNOW" and with a big grin on his face Better started playing. A lot of people in our section knew the new songs and sang along with me, and those that didn't were on their feet and screaming just like they were for AFD and UYI tunes as well. Down on the farm was a pleasant suprise, as well as seeing Chinese Democracy played for the beginning of the encore. They had cool chinese people scenes on the screens for the entire song which the crowd really seemed to love CD. I could sit here and rant the rest of the day about how much last night rocked but for those of you that have not yet had a chance to see them on this tour do not believe the crap you hear about solos sucking or people not being into the new songs or this band not rocking. These are not replacement musicians, they are one hell of a rock band!
