11-10-06 | New York MSG (NY) Review
by Damien Feelgood

After sitting  in 2 hours traffic I finally arrived into Manhatty-- ready to party. Me and Peter had general Admission seats but we were barricaded from the real front section-- but thankfully we had seats so unlike Sunday Night in Jersey.

PAPA ROACH was fucking awesome-- I feel Sebastian and Roach opening for GNR really stepped up-- cause now I can't wait to get both their new albums. Because the songs I've heard live ARE KILLER.
Isn't that what being an opening band is all about-- making the earlybird fans be like what song is this, it's fucking awesome. Perfect example: Sunday Night me and Peter stood around listening to Roach and on Friday Night we were singing along.

I expected something big for the GNR show in New York City. A rare live performance, an announcement regarding Chinese Democracy, a performance of a new unheard song, at least a killer rant. I didn't get any of those things..

The feeling in Madison Square Garden-- can not be explained with justice. It was like the roof was going to blow off. MSG showed Axl soooo much love, and he in return performed perfection. I PASSED AROUND SOO MUCH POT-- I had these arab guys next to me puffen up a storm and this hott 30 something year old chick who was with her "boyfriend" smoken, she was dancing next to me and if her loser dude wasn't there I def would have showed her my penis.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SHOW: SMOKEN for Knockin on Heavens Door-- there was such a feeling in the arena and during that song everything just came together. Better-- THE PLACE WENT NUTS FOR BETTER, and it was a different arrangment than usual, there was trippy sirens in the background during the chorus. SOUNDS GREAT

AND FOR PARADISE CITY, Robin motherfuckin Finch crowd surfed into the audience-WITH HIS GUITAR- they fucking carryed him halfway throught the arena.. You couldn't possibly imagine how far he was from the stage-- with guitar in hand-- I don't know if he was able to play from his position.. BUT THE SIGHT WAS SICK
