11-25-06 | Cleveland (OH) Review
by Mitchell

Traveling over 2 hours from Cleveland's hated city, Pittsburgh, we
arrived at the Quicken Loans Theater to a close to packed arena.  The
crowd looked as if everyone came out of a time capsule.  The Suicide
Girls came on a little after 8 and performed like no other band has
performed.  They infact were not a band, but strippers.  They got the
crowd going and everyone was pleased to watch them as they awaited the
arrival of Axl Rose.

Sebastian Bach took stage shortly after the Suicide girls and put on a
great rock show.  Singing old Skid Row songs and new stuff he has
written.  From bashing on Ted Nugent to ending song with screeching
vocals, Bach rocked.
Then the night hit a detour... The Eagles of Death Metal.  Don't let the
name fool you, they were neither anyhting like The Eagles or were they
death metal.  They were a 4 piece band with simple beats and guitar
riffs, nothing flashy.  The crowd was not into the music nor the band.
They were booed when they asked the crowd "are you ready to rock?!"  The
only cheer The Eagles of Death Metal got was when they got off stage.
As time ticked by, as expected, Axl was not on stage.  Finally around
12:15 A.M., the house lights went down and the intro music started to
play.  The place was going nuts.  The echoed notes of "Welcome to the
Jungle" started to play.  THen a delay, then they hit again.  The wholoe
band joined in then Axl came running out onto stage with a huge
pyrotechnics display, energizing the crowd.  After the first song, Axl
said, "The Pigeons of Shit Metal just played the last show with him,"
the crowd strongly agreed.  Sebastian Bach joined Axl on "My Michelle,"
Robin Finck played a solo of "Don't Cry," Dizzy Reid played a solo of
the Rolling Stone's Angie, and Brain & Bumblefoot was a respectable
guitarists for the band.  The rock did not stop for 2 1/2 hours.  Axl's
voice was amazing, aside from throwing one fan out of the show and
continually yelling at the sound tech, he nailed every note.  The new
Guns N Roses rocked.
