Then came Sebastian Fag, who should stop wearing leather trousers.
Guns n Roses actually appeared on time, at 5 past 11pm. Everyone
around was talking about how they would be really late – but they
proved us all wrong. Killer intro and guitar sound, even though the
loudness of the other instruments on the heavy songs kinda drenched
out Axl's voice. In the quieter songs (blues, patience, used to lover
her) you could really hear his voice. He was in awesome form though
and can sing and scream just as good as he did in the past.
A couple of nice surprises were 'down in the farm' and I believe 'aint
it fun' (but im not too familiar with spaghetti). Only three new songs
(blues, better, Chinese democracy) which pretty much noone knew. Axl
was jumping up and down like a maniac during the blues trying to
incite the crowd – which he sort of did. He also told us a story where
he met a guy in the soho area of London who has the line 'fit to burn'
tattooed across his chest – and that was the intro to YCBM.
Truly awesome gig – no incidents or drama, and a polite axl thanked as
numerous times throughout and at the end of the gig.
