Greetings from Baltimore MD.
Gun N Roses invaded this tiny Trans-Atlantic shipping port on Monday, November 13th, and I can tell you that it was well worth the fifteen year wait since I last saw them. The night started off very nicely with a burlesque show from The Suicide Girls. Wow, I was speechless. Five beautiful, piereced, tattooed beauties danced, moved, slithered, and bent their bodies in unbelievable ways up on the stage.
To say that every soul in the building was not enthralled with their performance is to say that rock n roll is a dying art form.

It was the perfect way to start a rock n roll evening and I thank Axl from the bottom of my wallet. Anyways, Sebastian "Dont throw plastic cups on stage" Bach came on stage next with his touring band. Bach was on, and when I mean on, he was better than last I saw him in 91 when he and his old band, Skid Row, opened for GNR. I saw that show at the St Louis riot, right in the middle of all the action, being only 6 rows back from the stage. Tonight, Bach's windpipes sounded just as crisp and clear as I hoped, but left me with the impression that his talents have aged well. Bach had the city in his hands and was very professional. To say that I was left with the impression that he truely loved what he was doing is an understatment. I am just glad we didnt have another "Australia" on our hands. GNR hit the stage at exactly 11:07 pm to Welcome to the Jungle. WOW, Axl brought it. His performance was electric. He was on, and he was having fun. You could see that the cocky, me against the world attitude was gone from his earlier days. Here was a man, who was happy being on stage with legions of screaming fans at his feet. He was very professional, stopping at one point to make sure that a fight was not ensuing in the crowd and that everyone was safe. When he did speak, he was very thankful to the audience for coming out to see him and his band. He seemed very genuine and looking like a man who was having a blast. The only negative things I can say about the show is that there were too many guitar and piano solos, 4 combined. When you wait 15 years to see a band, you dont need to see guitar solos from musicians who arent that relevent. I know, The Replacements, the Pixies, Nine Inch Nails....but they arent Slash, Duff and Izzy. Lets be honest, we all came out to see one Axl W. Rose and he was well worth the price of admission. He only did 3 songs from Chinese Democracy, but they sounded AWESOME. I have been to over 150 concerts in my lifetime, and I can definately say that this night was in my top 10 all time. Cant wait to see GNR again when they come around in what I believe will be the near future. Philly or DC would have to be next on the next leg of their tour. Oh yea, if Axl is looking for another guitarist to back him up, I am available.
